This
site is to provide users of Oracle Unbreakable Linux, with a friendly
meeting place to exchange tips, ideas, etc to get the maximum use out
of using Unbreakable Linux. We here at Gcclinux Group feel that
Oracle's announcement to provide and support Unbreakable Linux is a
major breakthrough for all business owners including small/home office
users who have a major need to run an enterprise quality distribution,
but have been unable due to pricing schemes. Oracle's decision has
leveled the playing field for all business users, and we fully plan on
supporting this endeavor in any way shape or form possible. With that
we invite you to pull up a seat, brows the forums, check out the rpms
built for Unbreakable Linux. You'll find us a friendly lot, who are
willing to help out any way possible.
Regards,
The GccLinux Group! |

So, WTF happened here?
A number of us have been waiting patiently for GccLinux to be
released. A couple of weeks ago the website simply just dissapears with
no explanation and GccLinux falls off the face of the earth.
I Google it today and I find this site. I think an explanation is required.

James,
Good talking to you again! I know it's quite a shock, and Ricardo
and I both have had many a long night trying to figure out exactly what
direction we should go in, as both us, in the very late spring, early
part of summer got wrapped up in new day jobs....I was actually the
luckier one, as I didn't get assigned in a foreign country like Ricardo
did.
Neither one of wanted to pursue continuing our continued
development of Gcclinux Desktop, with our work schedules being what
they were or seperately....just because we didn't know what we were
looking at down the road. As a matter of of fact, at one point I think
Ricardo, and I had stopped completely talking for I don't know 4 to 6
months. Oracle's announcement actually got us talking again, and I've
know I've actually spoken to some folks very close to JDS who thought,
we should do something for Unbreakable, as they actually felt that
their company blew it by not continuing with the development of JDS.
Shocking, Disappointing...Yes but you sometimes have to roll with the
punches life gives you. And since you know how I think, Do I believe in
a basic Gnone only desktop?...Yes is still my answer (not to discredit
in any way the fine work that the KDE folks do, or are developing, I
just never used it a whole lot).
