Hello Everyone,
Well, we've finally completed building all the rpms for the Gcclinux
Desktop (with the exception of the YaST2 translations - which should be
completed this week). We have somewhere along the line of 2000 rpms
(basically, all the packages updated from JDS3, and some that we
consider absolutely essential). The next phase will be creating some
test ISO's and have some folks test the build prior to releasing to the
masses. If you're interested in testing the ISO builds, please drop
Ricardo or myself a line.

Dave and Ricardo,
What has been done during the buildphase(s) of all these rpms is an
enormous job it's more than difficult to imagine, grasp or honour.
I have my partition ready and I look forward to download the dvd iso,
curious to see how the installation will look like and interested to
start using the result in practice.
As we now also are narrowing the time for summer holidays here in
a couple of weeks, I'm curious to know if there is a chance that the
dvd iso will be ready before that.

Terje,
Thanks for the kind words,, and I'm sure Ricardo would say the
same. I do believe we'll have the iso publicly available within the
next couple of weeks. Currently (as of last night), Ricardo has created
a (and for a lack of a bettter word) a debugging iso, so that we can
get all the packages playing nicely together. You'll be one of the
first to give the iso a whirl once we feel it ready for some testing.

Hi Richard,
We'll post you the link as soon as the ISO becomes available, Dave
and I are still resolving some last minute bugs we found after the ISO
was created, yep we have a ISO but there are a few bugs that we need to
remove before making it available to the public.
Additional part section on this forum will be created and will be
only visible to the beta testers, so that we can polish the distro to
the max before everyone will be able to download it.
Kind Regards,

Glad to hear it's coming along. I'm looking forward working with it.
I was begining to wonder - seems like most of the recent posts on the site were from spammers.
Good work.

So, what happened to GccLinux?
No news since June. I hope it's not going to prove as illusory as JDS3.

james our project hs been idle for about 3 months now, due to personal
issues, but both Dave and I have started to talk about picking up the
project again and finish it.
Stay with us and we will update the forum / site once we have some more news.

Good to hear that, chaps. Wish you well, and look forward to being able to do something constructive to help.
